CHAPEL HILL, N.C.- Former Tar Heel track and cross country standout Blake Russell is featured in an extensive online interview with GaryCohenRunning.com.
Russell, a Winston-Salem native, is a 1997 Carolina graduate. She competed at the 2008 Olympics in the marathon and was the first alternate for the 2004 Olympic team. Russell made history in 2008 by becoming the first American to every qualify for an Olympic team four years after being the first alternate.
In the interview, Russell shares about her training and preparation for the upcoming Olympic marathon trials and discusses her days competing for the Tar Heels, when she helped Carolina win four straight ACC Indoor and Outdoor titles.
