Keith Conning: In 1967 I left my job as a salesman for Pan American World Airways on Maiden Lane in downtown San Francisco and I visited the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo. It had been turned into a golf driving range by building a platform on the second deck. I thought it was a desecration of a historical building.
