2014 (JUNIOR):
Indoors – Finished fourth in the 200 at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a time of 23.11 … Placed sixth at SEC Championships in 60 meters, running a 23.29 after posting a 23.23 in the prelims … Finished as runner-up in four races indoors over 200 meters at A&M Reveille Invitational (23.74), Texas A&M 10-Team Inv. (23.57), Texas A&M Triangular (23.48) and Texas A&M Invitaitnal (23.26) … Placed third in Razorback Invitational (23.42) … Recorded a season best of 7.40 in prelims of 60m at SEC Championships … Runner-up at Texas A&M Aggie Invitational in 7.49 …
2013 (SOPHOMORE): In the 100 meters ran a season best of 11.28w and 11.35 … Won the Arizona State Baldy Castillo Invitational to open the outdoor season, running a time of 11.35 (0.3 wind) … Finished third at Texas Relays (11.20w) and Oregon Pepsi Team Invitational (11.55) … Placed fourth in the SEC Championships (11.50) … Reached the semifinals of the NCAA Championships (11.28w) …  Over 200 meters, produced a season best of 23.07 (1.3 wind) for third place at SEC Championships … Also third at Oregon (23.54) and LSU Alumni Gold (23.16w) … Opened outdoor season with a fifth place effort at USC (24.07) … Advanced to the semifinals of NCAA Championships (23.33w) … Ran second leg of Aggie 4x100 relay that won NCAA Championship in 42.88 … Also part of sprint relay that won at Arizona State’s Baldy Castillo Invitational (43.31 meet record), USC Trojan Invitational (43.31), Texas Relays (42.56, equal meet record), Oregon Pepsi Team Inv. (43.98), Penn Relays (43.05), and SEC Championships (43.43) … Ran lead leg of Aggie 4x200 relay that set a world leading time of 1:29.989 to win Penn Relays title … Finished second at Texas Relays (1:32.62).
Indoors - Purvis produced an impressive time of 22.70 seconds as the SEC Indoor runner-up in the 200m to LSU’s Kimberlyn Duncan ... Broke the Aggie school record of 22.73 that had been established in the previous heat by Kamaria Brown ... The Aggie school record heading into the meet was 22.83 and held by Porscha Lucas, who ran the time twice in 2008 and 2009 ... During the SEC prelims Purvis set a PR of 22.99 ... Earlier in the season Purvis clocked a then PR of 23.28 to win the Texas A&M Mondo Challenge ... A 23.30 placed her second at the Armory Collegiate Invitational in New York City ... Opened the season with a 23.58 for second place at Texas A&M 12-Team Invitational and a 23.34 for third place at Texas A&M Triangular ... In 60 meters, placed sixth at SEC Indoor with a 7.41, after equaling her career best of 7.36 in the prelims ... Finished second at A&M 12-Team (7.46) and A&M Triangular (7.44) meets while getting third at A&M Mondo Challenge (7.52) ... Placed eighth at Armory Collegiate Invitational with a 7.44 after running 7.42 in the prelims ... Also placed fourth at Texas A&M Invitational (7.46).
2012 (JUNIOR COLLEGE):Transferred from University of Miami to Laney Junior College in California ... Won the 100 and 200 meters in 11.43 (0.2) and 22.86 (0.9) at the California Community College Athletic Association in addition to running second leg on the winning 4x100 relay and third place 4x400 relay with a 53.9 anchor split ... Scored 24 points in leading Laney to the women's team title ... Set state and national junior college records by an American sprinter in the 200 with her winning time of 22.86, which broke the record of 23.12 set in 1981.
2010: Attended the University of Miami, but did not compete.
High School: Named Track & Field News High School Athlete of the Year in 2010 ... Selected as the Gatorade National Track and Field Athlete of the Year in 2010 ... Also named the 2010 Female Athlete of the Year by the Bay Area News Group ... Collected four golds and three silver medals over her four year career running the 100 and 200 meters at Saint Elizabeth High School in Oakland, California ...As a senior in 2010 she won the California State 100 and 200 double with national-leading times of 11.17 and 22.90 ... Her 11.17 ranks equal No. 8 on the all-time prep list ... Her 22.90, which ranks equal No. 9 all-time, put nearly a full second on the runner-up, Jessica Davis (23.70), who won the 2008 title ... Purvis also won the 2008 CIF state title in the 100 and the 2009 CIF state title in the 2009.
Personal: Daughter of Cheri Spigner... Has one sister, Julian, who is a hurdler at the University of Michigan.
