USATF Announces 2014 Hall of Fame Class
INDIANAPOLIS - Trailblazers and living legends comprise the
41st National Track & Field Hall of Fame induction class featuring Stacy Dragila, Lance Deal, Tom Burke, Pat "Paddy" Ryan and contributor Theodore "Ted" Corbitt, USA Track & Field announced last week.

The group will be honored Thursday evening, Dec. 4, at the Jesse Owens Awards and Hall of Fame Banquet, which is a part of the USATF Annual Meeting in Anaheim, California.

The Contributor honor is presented to someone who has made a significant impact on growing the sport of track and field. Receiving the honor is Ted Corbitt, a man regarded as the "Father of American Distance Running." Not only was he the first African-American marathoner to make the U.S. Olympic Team, but he was also also the founder of USATF's Road Running Technical Council, where he became the galvanizing force behind measuring and certifying the official distances of race courses.

Corbitt was inducted to the Running USA Hall of Champions in 2013.

2015 Napa to Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon Sells Out In Minutes

SONOMA, Calif. - A record number of people attempted to register for the 2015 Napa-to-Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon, presented by Newton Running, when registration opened on Friday, November 7th. With nearly three times as many people trying to register as had ever before, many experienced a delay during the payment process, and others weren't able to register at all.

The Napa-to-Sonoma Wine Country Half Marathon is the flagship event in the seven-race series, and has been selling out since 2009. With participants from all over the country and globally, registration has become a race in itself.

"The fact that two thirds of our participants are coming from outside California and the United States is astounding!" commented Destination Races Founder and President
Matt Dockstader. "However, it's a challenging day when so many people plan accordingly and make the effort to register and then get rejected or delayed in the process. We apologize to all those who were affected."
