BERLIOUX FINISHES THIRD AT BIG SKY CHAMPIONSHIPS

GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Junior Chloe Berlioux earned all-Big Sky honors by finishing third at the Big Sky Championships at North Dakota on Saturday. Berlioux completed the 6K course in 17:18.8 and recorded the second highest finish by a Hornet in school history at the meet.

As a team, the Hornet women finished in ninth place while the men were 11th. Northern Arizona won both team titles. The Lumberjack women compiled 61 points and were followed by Weber State (80) and Montana State (122). The NAU men had the top three individual finishers en route to scoring 24 points. Southern Utah (66) and Weber State (67) completed the top three.

For the Hornet women, senior Lauren Mugnaini had the second best finish in 18:15.3 to place 38th overall. Amanda Garcia was 49th in 18:28.3. Teresa Mallory and Gracie Albano completed the scorers for the women. Mallory ran 18:33.7 to place 53rd while Albano crossed the line in 18:42.1 to finish 61st.

Tyler Sickler was the fastest runner for the men's team, running the 8K course in 26:21.7 to place 47th. Jacob Huston was just seven seconds back in 52nd place with a time of 26:28.5. Sam Scheuer ran 26:44.1 and Eric Molina posted a time of 26:45.8 to finish in 57th and 59th, respectively. The final time towards the team total came from Abe Espinoza was was 67th in 26:58.3.

The Hornets will compete at the Doc Adams Invitational in Davis, Calif., next Saturday before going to the NCAA West Regional at Stanford on Nov. 14.
