Birds of the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary

"Known for its use of enhancement marshes and restored land, the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary is 307 acres of marshes, mudflats, and grassland located along Humboldt Bay. The combination of treated, fresh, and saltwater marshes are temporary refuge to over 270 species of birds through out the year. Hundreds of waterfowl stop at the Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary during seasonal migrations to breed throughout the wetlands. Chances to see wildlife are high, come visit and see for yourself."

Girls' Varsity 3 mile

Junior Morgin Coonfield (McKinleyville), the defending champion, won in 18:01. Coonfield won by 1:20. Michaela Barros (Fortuna) placed second in 19:21. Elise Ford (Arcata) was third in 19:49.

Arcata, NCS DIVISION IV 864 students, won the team title with 25 points. Fortuna, NCS DIVISION IV 830 students, was second with 60 points. McKinleyville, NCS DIVISION IV 615 students, was third with 66 points.

Arcata, NCS DIVISION IV 864 students, won the team title with 35 points. McKinleyville, NCS DIVISION IV 615 students, placed second with 38. Eureka, NCS DIVISION III 1236 students, was third with 71.
