Raquel Hefflin went from living in Compton to attending Beverly Hills HS. Quite an economic contrast. In 1961 I went from the U.S. Air Force Academy to the University of California in Berkeley. From right to left politically. From a male only student body to a coed student body.

"Since the 1980s, the city of Compton has become well known in American popular culture due to many hip hop groups and rappers originating from the community, such as the seminal gangsta rap group N.W.A, best known for their debut album, Straight Outta Compton. The city of Compton as well as southern Los Angeles County in general is notorious for its gangs, such as the Bloods, the Crips, and Sureños, which all originated in the Los Angeles area." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compton,_California

"Beverly Hills is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States, surrounded by the cities of Los Angeles and West Hollywood.

Originally a Spanish ranch where lima beans were grown, it was incorporated in 1914 by a group of investors who had failed to find oil, but found water instead and eventually decided to develop it into a town. It is now home to 34,290 inhabitants. Sometimes merely known by one of its primary ZIP codes, "90210", it has been home to actors and celebrities. The city also includes the shopping district Rodeo Drive and the Beverly Hills Oil Field." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beverly_Hills,_California
