Strymar Livingston (Christopher Columbus HS, Bronx, NY) set a high school record of 1:01.68 in the 500 meters. The old high school record of 1:02.40 was set by Mike Greene (Boston College, Dorchester, Ma) in 1984. Najee Glass (St. Peter's, Neward) placed second in 1:02.16 (2, 2 HS).

Andy Baddeley (Great Britain), Britain's top metric miler, an Olympic finalist in Beijing 2008, and a World Championship finalist in Osaka 2007, won the open mile in 3:57.22. James Brewer (Great Britain), who ran and studied at Cal briefly, placed second in 3:57.92. Edward Cheserek (St. Benedicts High School, Newark; Kenya). the Foot Locker National Cross Country Champion, was seventh in 4:02.21 (2, 2HS)(junior-class record) (3:45.2[2, 2HS]. Alan Webb (South Lakes, Reston, VA) set the HSR indoor record of 3:59.86 in 2001. Lukas Verbicas (Sandburg, Orland Park, IL) set the junior-class record of 4:03.88 last year.

Brewer: "Reached the semifinals of the 1500 meters at the 2009 World Championships, running a PR 3:37.17 in the first round and 3:37.27 in the semis ... fell just 0.08 seconds shy of qualifying for the final ... finished second at the European Under-23 Championships in the 1500 ... ran a 3:54.80 mile at the Aviva London Grand Prix on July 25 ... owns a best of 1:47.92 in the 800 and was runner-up in the event at the European Junior Championships in 2007 ... won a silver medal in the 1500 at the Under-23 European Championships in 2009. Brewer left Cal and returned to England.

Brenda Martinez (Rancho Cucamonga HS 2005; UC Riverside 2010) won the women's mile in 4:39.37. Lauren Centrowitz (Stanford 2009) was fourth in 4:40.60.
