RE: Minutes of Meeting of January 10, 2012
Present: Keith Conning (Retired Berkeley HS), Brad Morisoli (Granada HS, Livermore), Mike Elliott, Michelle Doggett, Peter Brewer (Northgate HS), George Kleeman, Brian Henderson (Miramonte HS), and Karen Smith (NCS Associate Commissioner).
Unable to attend: Linda Sawyer (Retired, Las Lomas HS, Walnut Creek), Jack Coakley (College Prep, Oakland), Angela Paradise (Alhambra HS, Martinez), and Chuck Woolridge (Campolindo HS, Moraga)
1. Karen welcomed all present.
2. Pole Vault proposal
Proposal was discussed at length, once again. Proposal is attached. Committee voted on the proposal. (Failed 0-8-0)
Committee will also send out procedures for the pole vault event that will be sent to the pole vault coaches. Many of the issues in the proposal will be addressed.
3. Review of the 2012 NCS/Les Schwab Tires Track & Field Championships
a. Sites
• Redwood Empire –HDNL HOSTS-TBA – Site Directors
• Tri-Valley – Granada High School, Brad Morisoli – Site Director
• Bay Shore – TBA-working on possible sites if no site available we will run the Tri-Valley and the Bay Shore simultaneously at Granada HS
• Class A – Montgomery HS – Site Director-Karen is contacting Jim Crowhurst as a possible site director.
• MOC – Edwards Stadium, UC Berkeley – Brian Henderson/ Chuck Woolridge Site Directors
b. Championship Bulletins
The Class A/Area bulletins will be completed once all sites and site directors are confirmed. MOC Championship Bulletin will be posted by the end of next week. Corrections were made and Karen will update and email to member schools.
4. Personnel at the 2012 NCS/Les Schwab Tires MOC Track & Field Championships (Handout at meeting)- Karen will email list out to committee once she compiles both Linda Sawyer’s list and this year updates.
5. 2012 Meet of Champions Bulletin-Area Bulletin will be sent out once site and site directors are confirmed
MOC Bulletin will be posted by the end of next week.
6. Class A/Area Entries—at-large standards are posted on the web.
7. At-large Entries – NCS-are posted on the web.
8. Giveaway item for MOC Officials
a. Fleece jackets or hats
9. Honoring Officials-Dan Graham, Doyle Reagan, Steve Brower
a. Joe Stocking –Amador Valley -50th year of coaching was also recommended.
