Track & Field Finishes Second Day At Meets

The San José State women’s track and field team continued in action on Saturday as the team competed at the Armory Track Invitational in New York City and UW Invitational in Seattle.
Three freshmen participated in the triple jump at the Armory. Nicole Iloanyafinished 13th overall and was the third-best freshman in the field. She jumped 11.96 meters, 39 feet, three inches, in her first attempt and best of the day. Cambree Harbaugh finished 16th overall and the fourth-best freshman, recording 11.81 meters, 38 feet, nine inches, in her final attempt. Kelsey Johnson-Upshaw recorded 11.17 meters, 36 feet, 7.75 inches, in her final attempt.
In Seattle, the Spartans participated at the UW Invitational. Marayne Martinfinished the 800-meter run at 2:26.01. Two Spartans ran the mile – Jennifer Beckingham who finished at 4:59.65, and Angelica Parodi who ran in 5:17.79. Leah Lambert participated in the long jump where her best jump was 5.09 meters, approximately 16’8”.
The Spartans compete next weekend at the Jackson’s/NB Boise Indoor Invitational.
