Dean Starkey (born March 27, 1967 in Park Ridge, Illinois) is an American pole vaulter. His personal best is 5.92 meters, and he won a bronze medal at the 1997 World Championships.

As of 2006, Dean Starkey lives in Arizona and still enjoys athletics. His favorite hobby is motocross. Starkey broke the record for most vaults over 19-feet by an American in 1994 when he leaped over the barrier seven times. He and his wife, Jill, coach vaulters at Arizona Pole Vault Academy (www.arizonapolevaultacademy.com) He has two daughters, Taylor (born 2002) and Tyra (born 2006)and son Garrett(born 1993), also polevaults.
