Suver Wins Great Cow Harbor 10k; Thomas & Williams 5th and 6th
(Colorado Springs, CO) - Mattie Suver (adidas/BRC) was able to pull out a win despite being in midst of marathon training at the Great CowHarbor 10k in Northport, NY, on Saturday. Suver, like her teammates Wendy Thomas and Alisha Williams, felt the weight of marathon specific work as the early pace saw the trio distanced from the leaders. Suver was able to respond with a late race push to catch leader Amy Van Alstine and then managed a final kick to take the win 33:31.8 to 33:33.3, the closest finish in race history. Suver took home $3,500 for her performance.
