Cherrelle Garrett was born in San Francisco, California on May 7, 1989. The native of Hayward, California graduated with a Bachelor's of Art degree in Sociology from the University of California at Berkeley, where she also starred on the Track and Field team. Cherrelle was introduced to the sport of Bobsled by Elana Meyers Taylor, who recruited her. She ran track with Elana's husband, Nic Taylor, at Mt. Eden High School, where her love of sports began. Cherrelle is active in her community, volunteering for the Girls and Boys Club and helping people reach their full potential as a fitness instructor during off season.
