McCall, Thomas, Scott pick up gold at World University Games

Jeneva McCall, Vashti Thomas and Aurieyall Scott have all picked up gold medals for Team USA as track and field competition continues at the World University Games in Kazan, Russia. A complete list of results can be found here.
McCall, a three-time NCAA champion, became the first American woman to ever win the women’s hammer throw at the World University Games when she defeated world-leader Oxana Kondratyeva of Russia. McCall recorded a winning throw of 73.75m/241-11.
Scott won the first medal for Central Florida University at the World University Games with her winning time of 11.28 in the women’s 100m. Meanwhile, Academy of Art University’s Thomas won the women’s 100m hurdles in a time of 12.61.
Competition in the World University Games continues Thursday and runs through Friday.
