American athletes compete in Luzern

Highlighted by wins from Charles Jock (men’s 800m), Justin Gaymon (men’s 400m hurdles), Brianna Rollins (women’s 100m hurdles) and Ryan Grinell (men’s triple jump), American athletes competed Wednesday at the Spitzen Leichtathletik Luzern in Luzern, Switzerland. The American record holder in the event, Rollins led a sweep of the top five spots by Americans in the women’s 100m hurdles with her winning time of 12.63. Jock won the 800m in a time of 1:46.18, Gaymon won the 400m hurdles in 48.69 and Grinell won the triple jump with a mark of 16.78m/55-0.75.

Americans also picked up wins in “B” races from Louis Gutierrez, who won the 800m “B” race in a time of 1:51.63, Ty Akins, who won the 110m hurdles “B” race in a time of 13.65, and Tiffany Townsend, who won the 100m hurdles “B” race in 11.28.
