Kanuho, Hutton, Saina, Dey, Korir & Mallory to Compete in Silicon Valley Turkey Trot 5k

Kanuho, Hutton, Saina, Dey, Korir & Mallory to Compete in Silicon Valley Turkey Trot 5k


(Colorado Springs, CO) - Coming off of her Colorado state cross country title, Rochelle Kanuho (adidas/BRC) leads a contingent of American Distance Project athletes at Thursday's Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot 5k to be held in San Jose, CA. Both Kanuho and Brittni Hutton (adidas/BRC), who was fourth in the Colorado state championship, will be making their professional road race debut. Betsy Saina (Nike), a 2013 college graduate as well, and a three-time NCAA champion, will join the two in the women's race which offers $25,000 in prize money with $2,500 going to the champion and $10,000 on offer to an American record performance.


Leonard Korir (Nike) leads ADP athletes as he returns to San Jose after finishing second last year. Dey Dey (adidas/BRC) makes his 5k road race debut while Anthony Mallory returns after setting a personal best of 14:35 on the criterion loop course in 2012.

Nelson Set to Defend Title at Ft. Collins 4-Miler; Thomas & Birdsong Also to Compete


(Colorado Springs, CO) - Brianne Nelson (adidas/BRC) will defend her title at the Fort Collins Thanksgiving Day 4-Miler while adidas/BRC teammates Wendy Thomas and Brandon Birdsong will compete for their first time. The race offers $3,000 in prize money with $600 going to the overall winner on the loop course held at an elevation of 4,982-feet.

Begay & Petersson Racing At Manchester Road Race


(Colorado Springs, CO) - Alvina Begay (Nike) will join Jess Petersson (Marathon Sports) at Thursday's 77th-annual Manchester Road Race. The traditional Thanksgiving Day race, held over a non-traditional 4.748-mile distance, is held in Manchester, CT, and offers $4,000 for the champion with prize money and certificates going 25 deep.

Elliot Finishes 4th at Main Street Crit 8k


(Colorado Springs, CO) - Matt Elliott (Brooks) finished 4th and as the top American at last Saturday's Main Street Crit 8k in Columbia, SC. Elliott posted a personal best of 23:40, earning $300 for his effort but more than a minute behind course record breaker Emmanuel Bor who finished at 22:39.

New York Road Runners Ask Your Help For Thyphoon Victims In Philippines


(Colorado Springs, CO) The New York Road Runners are asking for donations to provide relief to those effected by Super Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. In cooperation with UNICEF, NYRR has set up a fundraising initiative called Run For The Philippines where runners can run miles and raise money.
