Suver In USA Running Circuit Lead Heading Into .US 12k Championship;
Nelson & Thomas In Top 10

(Colorado Springs, CO) - Mattie Suver (adidas/BRC) heads into the final race of the USA Running Circuit with a commanding lead while teammates Brianne Nelson and Wendy Thomas sit at 5th and 8th, respectively. This Sunday's .US National Road Racing Championship will not only offer $100,000 of prize money for the 12k race to be held on the streets of Alexandria, VA, but will also crown the 2013 USA Running Circuit champion and award the grand prix purse of $12,500.

Suver, who is attempting to recover from the New York City Marathon two weeks earlier, leads the series with 47-points bolstered by runner-up finishes at both the US 25k and US 20k. Suver's closest challenger, Janet Bawcom, is narrowly behind at 45-points but has withdrawn due to an injury suffered at the New York City Marathon. The .US National Road Racing Championship, however, offers triple points to the usual 15 for first, 12 for second, 10, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 point structure, meaning an athlete with only one race on the 11-race circuit could win.

www.USARunningCircuit.com will offer live text updates of the race, while USATF.tv will have a live web cast.
