Adult Coach Greg Brock
Biography
Greg started running at Norte Del Rio in Sacramento, and made it to the state meet twice. As a sophomore at Stanford, he placed 5th in the 10,000 in the NCAA. He held school records in the two, three and six mile distances, and was Cross Country All American his sophomore and junior years. After college, Greg went to the Olympic Trials in the 10,000m and marathon, and placed 5th in the marathon. He started coaching at Santa Cruz High School in 1974, and later coached at Cabrillo College until 1996. Greg has been with the Track Club as General Manager since 1997, and began coaching the adult club one year later. He holds a BA in Psychology and an MA Exercise Physiology, and has been running and racing for 37 years.
Coaching Philosophy
I love helping anyone improve their performances at anytime in their lives. I coach appropriate to the age and experience level of the athletes. The best coaching is done on a collaborative level. I don’t dictate; I prefer to advise and guide athletes by giving feedback during the journey. I am very proud to have started or advised a lot of people who have gone into coaching:

Volunteer Coach Ray Disperati
Ray has been a member of the SCTC for approximately 20 years. In 2004 he received a Level One coaching certificate from USA Track and Field. He spent four years coaching track and field for Special Olympics and has been a volunteer coach for the SCTC's Youth Program for approximately 9 years. Ray is dedicated in helping young athletes achieve success while having fun.
