Men’s 3,000m
Mason Coppi
On the race and strategy
“I was just thinking I had to hit my pace and do my best even if no one is around me. I’ve been working on confronting my nervousness leading up to this meet staying calm and focused”
Men’s Shot Put
Adrian “Tripp” Piperi, first place
On competing at World Youth Trials
“It was awesome. My first five throws weren’t that great, and I was in third after (Isaiah Rogers) threw. I was freaking out, but then I bust one out there and I was really happy on that last throw.”
On the opportunity to represent Team USA
“It is a really humbling experience. It’s a great opportunity to compete with some people, and it’s going to be a great competition. I love seeing everybody because I have met half of them, and it’s great to see how everybody is doing after a year. I just can’t wait. I’m going to come back next year because it’s really fun doing this kind of stuff. I love these kind of track meets.”
Isaiah Rogers, second place
On competing at World Youth Trials
“It was pretty thick. It was a different experience. We had a lot of really good throwers out there, so I was really motivated. They pushed me to do better, and I hope I pushed people to be better too.”
Men’s Pole Vault
Zachary Shugart
On competing today
“My warmup wasn’t good. I couldn’t get off the ground, so my goal was to just make my opening bar. It is the first time I’ve ever done anything like this, so it is exciting”
Women’s 2,00m Steeple
Rylee Bowen (SONOMA ACADEMY, NCS)
On the race overall and her strategy
“We took it out perfectly paced. I didn’t really know what my pace should be, but it felt pretty good, and slowly the barriers kept coming. It felt like the gaps in between were getting shorter. But in every part of the race, my favorite part was probably the water jump. It was so cool to do something different.”
On what it would mean to represent Team USA
“I’m just so excited and very, very honored. This race will be so exciting. I can’t wait, and I know it’s going to be the best thing ever.”
Women’s Pole Vault
Carson Dingler, first place
On today’s event, competing against great athletes
“There was really good competition. I think that’s what got me over the hump. Last week I no-heighted at New Balance and that’s the first time I’ve ever done that so it’s really good to come back and have a big win.”
On her coach’s encouraging words before her last jump
“You just have to put everything on the table when it’s your last attempt, and you have to go for it and not let anything stop you.”
On the chance to represent Team USA and goals for the international stage
“Just to clear bigger bars and keep getting better. I’m excited to wear USA across my chest.
Men’s Javelin
Liam Christiansen

On taking a break then coming back and how she feels now
“I took a whole week off when I came back. I felt like Usain Bolt or somethin, like I thought something was wrong with me. I feel awesome.”
