Alysia Montano and Ray Stewart To Compete In Toronto This Week

BERKELEY – California alums Alysia Montano and Ray Stewart begin competition Tuesday at the 2015 Pan American Games with events to be held at the CIBC Pan/Parapan Am Athletics Stadium at York University.
Montano will compete in the women’s 800-meter that begins Tuesday with the semifinal heats before concluding competition on Wednesday. Montano will be running in lane two in the first semifinal heat that is scheduled to begin at 10:10 a.m. local time.
Montano is the only female 2015 U.S. Champion competing in the Pan-Am games this year. Montano won the loaded women’s 800-meter final in Eugene last month at a season-best 1:59.15, less than a year after giving birth to her first child.
Stewart will participate in the men’s 110-meter hurdles with the heats and final all taking place on Friday, July 24. Stewart placed seventh at the 2015 U.S. Championships after running a 13.34 in the 110-meter hurdles.
