Margo Yerman Obituary
MARGO YERMAN Margo Yerman passed away quietly in her home on Saturday, May 24, holding her sweetheart, Jack Yerman's, hand. Her sister, children, grandchildren, little nieces and nephews, and friends surrounded her as she began her next adventure. Margo was the oldest daughter of David Bruce Brown and Della Goodsell Brown. Margo grew up in Taft with her sister, Karen Brown Parrott. She attended the University of California, Berkeley, where she met Jack, accompanied him to the Olympics, and graduated with honors. She taught high school in Santa Clara and later and Pleasant Valley in Chico. Jack and Margo are blessed with four children: Bruce, Bryce, Blake and Brook. She taught them the value of education and serving others. Her three sons served LDS missions and honored her with Doctor's degrees and her daughter with a double major. Her children chose careers in medicine and education. Jack and Margo moved to Paradise in 1966. She sat on school-site councils, community committees, and raised funds that developed the PHS all-weather track and the Paradise Performing Arts Center. She taught early morning religion classes for thirteen years and was involved with Scouts and the Paradise Piranhas Swim Team. Jack jokes that Margo could squeeze a dime from a turnip which helped her travel around the world with family. She believed "experiences" were more valuable than "things," and whether at home or in another country, she was kind, always looking for someone who needed a hand. Her children lovingly dubbed her "Supermom." She participated in many scholarship pageants and won Miss Kern County and was a runner-up to Miss California, she wished to be known for her humanitarian work, seeking those who needed assistance, organizing service projects, and quietly helping others who needed emotional, financial, or physical support. Her truest beauty came from within. Margo's delight are her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Jack, her son Bruce and his wife Sarah, and their children Mika Rane (and Robbie), Maya, Elyse, Indi, and Anahi; Bryce and his wife Zion and their children Dane and Bijoix; Blake and his wife Kathryn and their children Kyle, Micah, Jayce, Sierra, and Tage; and Brook Yerman MacKay and her husband Matt and their children Jared, Tori, Tierra, and Teal. She was very close to her sister's family, and is survived by her sister Karen Brown Parrott and husband Harvey and her nieces and nephews Brent and Alexis Parrott, Brian Parrott, Blane and Jennette Parrott, Blair and Wendy Parrott, and Brynn and Jeremy Chatfield. Funeral Services were held on Monday, June 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at the L.D.S. Church on Bille road. In lieu of flowers, Margo would be pleased with a donation to the Paradise Performing Arts Center.

Keith Conning:  Jack Yerman and I attended the Memorial Service for Lon Spurrier at the Cal Alumni House on Sunday, July 12, 2015.  Karl Uebel asked how his wife Margo was.  He responded very quietly that she had passed last year.  That was the first that I heard that his wife had died.
