Attend Running USA 2015: 12th Industry Conference
powered by ACTIVE Network in New Orleans, February 8-10

Keynote Speaker Announced

Running USA has announced that Pat Williams, co-founder and Senior Vice President of the NBA's Orlando Magic - an inspiring leader who has motivated athletes, coaches and professionals during the course of an impressive career - will be the keynote speaker on Monday, February 9, at the event's opening session. In addition to his work in the NBA and experience as a professional baseball player, Williams is a committed runner. He has finished 58 marathons in the last 14 years. Says Williams, "I got caught up in the running craze of the 1970s when Jim Fixx and Dr. George Sheehan were leading the way. However, my running career did not take off until January 1996, when I ran my first marathon at age 55 (the WDW Marathon here in Orlando). At that point, I was hooked, and over the next 15 years ran 57 more, including the Boston Marathon 13 times. I ran my last marathon at age 70 in January 2011 (coincidentally, it was also the WDW Marathon here in Orlando). I have many life lessons from my years in sports and on the marathon trails and I'm eager to share them with you this February."

YourRaceBase.com Serves Race Directors From Start To Finish

Based in Charlottesville, VA, YourRaceBase.com serves as the single source for running, triathlon, and cycling event merchandise. It allows race directors to purchase event merchandise, like shirts, signage, race bibs, and awards from a convenient, online portal, so that they can remain focused on making their events great.

As fans, participants, and race directors themselves, the founders know the pain points of putting on great events. "After years of involvement with races, I saw that every race director has the same problem - scrambling to get these products for races and having a hard time figuring out how to comprehensively source all the necessary elements," says President, Tim Hegemier.

The solution became a one-stop-shop race website, allowing race directors the ability to get the right product, great pricing, and most importantly, vital on-time delivery. Coupled with their in-house advertising agency, Good Soil Agency, they also have the opportunity to provide advanced design and marketing services.
