Six Names Added to The Bowerman Women’s Official Watch List

NEW ORLEANS – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Tuesday the first update of the 2010 indoor season to the official watch list for The Bowerman as selected by The Bowerman Women’s Watch Committee. The 10 currently on the female version of the watch list includes six new names from the 10 listed in the preseason.

The 10 listed represent 11 collegiate leading marks from the 2010 season, one current world and American leader, and three national records.

The Bowerman Advisory Board appointed four of its members to comprise The Bowerman Men’s Watch Committee and another four of its members to make up The Bowerman Women’s Watch Committee. The committee will release its next update on Tuesday, March 2, 10 days before the start of the NCAA Indoor Championships.

The three men and three women finalists will be named on June 15.

Beard clocked a collegiate-leading 52.27 over 400 meters in Texas A&M’s dual meet versus Texas on January 23.The time also ranks Beard second in the U.S. this year (Allyson Felix, 52.05A) and No. 7 in the world in the event.

Harrison is the collegiate leader in the 60-meter hurdles, having clocked a 7.96 for a personal best at last weekend’s Virginia Tech Elite meet in Blacksburg. The time also makes her the third best American performer this year and No. 6 in the World.

Proctor also claimed national records for her home country of Anguilla, an island nation in the Lesser Antillies of the Caribbean. Her personal best in the long jump of 21-10¾ (6.67m) ranks her No.6 in the world this year.
