2010 MPSF Indoor Track and Field Championship Preview

Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Indoor Track and Field celebrates its 18th year of competition with a championship meet at the University of Washington's Dempsey Indoor facility for the eighth-consecutive year, Friday and Saturday (Feb. 26-27). Friday begins at 12:30 p.m. with the men's weight throw and concludes at 6:55 p.m. with the women's 800-Meter run. Saturday will open at 11 a.m. with the men's 60-Meter hurdles, while the women's 4 X 400 Meter Relay will end this year's championship meet at 3:00 p.m.

On the women's side, Oregon enters the conference championship meet as the nation's top-ranked team, owning 201.15 points. Arizona is ranked 16th (62.50). The Oregon men rank second nationally (138.25), followed by No. 5 Arizona State (84.96), No. 13 Stanford (57.56), No. 18 Arizona (51.36), and No. 22 California (44.64). As announced on www.tfrrs.org, there are a total of 31 NCAA Division I automatic qualifying marks from the MPSF entering the meet, 17 men and 14 women. There are an additional 105 NCAA provisional marks this year from the conference, 56 men and 49 women.

The 2010 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship takes place March 12 and 13, hosted by the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville's Randal Tyson Track Center.
