Three-time All-American Scott Roth is ranked second in the NCAA in the pole vault and won the Vandal Collegiate on Friday.

MOSCOW, Idaho - A small band of Washington jumpers and vaulters headed east to the University of Idaho and the Vandal Collegiate Friday night. Sophomore Kelly McNamee won the women's high jump while junior Scott Roth took the pole vault title and remains undefeated in four meets this year.

McNamee, competing close to her hometown of Spokane, Wash., cleared a season-best 5-feet, 8-inches to win the high jump competition. An NCAA qualifier last year, McNamee inched closer to the qualifying mark with two chances likely remaining. Redshirt freshman Caroline Soules cleared 5-2 ¼ to tie for fourth.

In the men's pole vault, great marks were hard to come by, but Roth easily bested the field with a clearance of 17-7 ¾. That mark was six inches higher than second-place Jeremy Klas of Idaho. But aside from Roth the Husky vaulters struggled. Freshman Bryce Borer cleared 15-2 ¼ but Ryan Vu and Jeremy Lashinske no-heighted.

Sophomore Kelly Mudlo was the top finisher in the women's pole vault as she cleared 11-8 ½ to take fifth while Ally Wojciechowski was seventh with the same clearance. Freshman Logan Miller had a tougher day than a week ago when she cleared 12-9 to crack UW's top-10 list. Friday she made 11-2 ½, as did Taylor Fjeran.





The next date for Husky track will be the two-day MPSF Championships in the Dempsey Indoor, Friday-Saturday, Feb. 26-27.
