Left to right: My brother Stanley Conning, 79, Palatine, IL; sister-in-law Nancy Miller Conning from Glasgow, Scotland; Lauren Garrison, 18, Geneva, IL; great-nephew Drew Garrison; my niece Sue Garrison; Todd Garrison. Lauren is a cheer leader and videographer at Geneva High School.
Stanley ran the 440 yard dash for Lincoln HS in San Francisco in 1952. He fell down on the cinders in Kezar Stadium and he still has the scars on his back to this day. He graduated from San Francisco State University. He was the first one in our family to graduate from college.
