Riverside—UC Riverside's Michael Koger won the 400m Hurdles Saturday afternoon at the Big West Track & Field Championship, finishing with a time of 51.73. That was .11 faster than runner-up Cameron Vaca of UC Irvine.
The Highlanders' Men's Team finished in seventh place overall at the year-end conference meet, with the Women's Team taking fifth place.
Although UC Riverside didn't take any individual titles on the Women's side, they were led by four second place finishes from Vesta Bell in the Hammer Throw (58.60m, 192' 3"), Breanna Jemison in the Shot Put (15.57m, 51' 1.00"), Faith Makau in the 800m (2:08.15) and the 4x400m Relay Team of Noelle Abboud, Asha Giles, Raquel Hefflin, Amber Wright (3:40.38).
