SENIOR (2013): Team Captain.

JUNIOR (2012): Earned All-America (first-team) honors in the pole vault at both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Championships...two-time Mountain West champion...two-time all-conference honoree...set Academy records in both the indoor and outdoor pole vault...set a MW Championship Meet record of 18'1¾" to win the outdoor conference title...earned the program's Most Competitive Athlete award...also received the Alonzo Babers Performance Award...tied for fifth in the pole vault at the NCAA Outdoor Championships with a mark of 17'8½"...tied for seventh at the NCAA West Preliminary (17'6½")...took first at the MW Outdoor Championship with a career-best, Academy-record clearance of 18'1¾"...that mark broke the conference's 2008 meet record and is the second-best clearance in MW history...that height is also an Academy Junior Class Record...paced Air Force to five of top-six spots at the conference meet...became the first Air Force vaulter since 2004 to clear the 18-foot bar outdoors...cleared 18'0½" on two occasions...first cleared that mark at the Texas Relays, finishing third overall...equaled that mark again at the Mt. SAC Relays to finish as the top collegiate vaulter in the "elite" field (fourth overall)...earned the Mountain West Athlete of the Week award following that meet...named the USTFCCCA Mountain Region Indoor Male Field Athlete of the Year...cleared an Academy indoor-record 18'1¼" at the Air Force Invitational...honored as a Primetime Performer by CollegeSports360.com following the record-setting performance...also honored as the Air Force Athlete of the Week following that meet...ranked first in the nation for two weeks following that clearance...tied for fourth in the U.S. this season...won the pole vault during four of six meets, including the MW Indoor Championships (17'5"), Robert Shine Invitational (17'10½"), Air Force Invitational (18'1¼") and the Air Force All-Comers Meet (17'0¾")...led Falcons to six of top-eight finishes at MW Indoor Championships...was the top collegiate vaulter (second overall) at the New Mexico Classic (17'2¼").

SOPHOMORE (2011): Received the team's Most Improved Award...earned all-conference honors during both the indoor and outdoor Mountain West Conference championships...ranked seventh in the nation during the outdoor season with a career-best 17'7¾"...that mark is ranked fourth on the program's all-time list...used that clearance to win the Jack Christiansen Invitational...earned the team's Field Athlete of the Week after that meet...became just the eighth vaulter in Academy history to clear the 17-foot mark in outdoor competition...cleared 17'2¾" to win the Front Range Classic with a new meet record...also won the pole vault at the UC Irvine Spring Break Invitational (16'8¾")...finished 16th (16'10¾") at the NCAA national semifinals...finished third at the MWC outdoor (17'5½") and indoor (17'3¾") championships...indoor mark of 17'3¾" is the fourth-best indoor clearance in Academy history...two-time MWC Athlete of the Week during the indoor season...earned the first award after clearing a then-career best matching bar of 16'6¾" in a winning effort at the Air Force All-Comers Meet...claimed second honor after winning the Robert Shine Invitational with a then-personal best 17'2¾"...also earned the team's Field Athlete of the Week award following the All-Comers Meet...was the top collegiate finisher (second overall) at the Alex Wilson Invitational (17'3¾")...also finished second at the Don Barrett Duals (16'6¾").

FRESHMAN (2010): Cleared a career-best 16'6¾" twice during the indoor season...first cleared that height at the New Mexico Classic...matched that clearance with a runner-up finish at the Robert Shine Invitational...won the pole vault at the Nebraska Wesleyan Open (15'7")...won section of Pole Vault Summit with matching height...won the pole vault during the outdoor season at the Front Range Classic...cleared a career-best 16'3¼" to match the meet record...also finished within the top four at the Tom Benich Classic and Mason Spring Open...earned the program's Field Athlete of the Week award once during the indoor season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Rocklin High School...CIF-San Joaquin Section runner-up in the pole vault...two-time California state qualifier...recorded a personal-best high school clearance of 16'2"...passed on competing at the state meet as a senior to participate in the Rocklin High School graduation ceremony...ranked fourth in the state of California and 12th in the nation as a senior.

PERSONAL: Son of Craig and Carol Simmons...has a twin brother, Rob, who is also a senior at the Academy...has one older sister, Rachel, who is a second lieutenant in the Air Force and currently completing pilot training at Laughlin AFB, Texas...also has two younger sisters, Olivia and Isabel..."hails from the great state of California"...nicknames include "Cale-Rob", "Twin", "Thundercat", "Blazer", "Turbo", "Twig", "Skeletor" and "King Cale"...majoring in basic sciences...future plans include becoming a fighter pilot and an Olympic champion...member of the "500 Club" for recording a perfect score on the PFT...served as Morale, Welfare and Recreation Officer...spent the summer working Falcon Sports Camps...also completed the Academy's Powered Flight Program...hobbies include skiing, rock climbing, skydiving, scuba diving, hiking, slacklining, cliff diving, shooting guns, camping, longboarding, playing Frisbee, "counting to high numbers, digging holes, spitting off bridges, slashing trees with katanas, treasure hunts, throwing rocks at birds, climbing on furniture playing 'hot lava', driving through puddles in my car, eating samples for lunch at Costco, being a ghost with my bed sheets, climbing big trees, tearing phone books in half, crushing cans against my head, playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, pole vaulting with my eyes closed, sword fighting with fluorescent light bulbs, rolling down hills in big tires and sleeping"...member of Cadet Squadron 19.
