Epitomized the term "student-athlete" by claiming the women's NCAA 10,000-meter championship in 1984 while earning first-team academic All-America honors on three occasions (1983-84-85). The seven-time All-American still holds the Ducks' school records in the 3,000 (8:50.79), 5,000 (15:23.03) and 10,000 (32:43.81) in addition to the fastest collegiate 5,000-meter mark ever. Complementing her individual exploits, she sparked the Oregon women to national team titles in the NCAA's 1983 cross country championships as well as the 1985 track and field crown. courtesy Oregon ================= Keith Conning: Kathy Hayes Herrmann is the aunt of Erin Clark (South Eugene HS, Eugene, Oregon; Colorado) | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
