NBC Track and Field coverage celebrates 'stars', snubs distance events (Video)

If you tuned in for NBC’s television coverage of the 2013 IAAF World Championships in Moscow, Russia this past weekend, then perhaps you noticed something evident in the way track and field is broadcasted. A few times every year, a major American network will cover the sport whether it is the U.S. Trials, the Drake Relays, or the Prefontaine Classic. And each time, almost without failure, the event is so heavily condensed in order to package the program in a one or two hour time block.
