Craddock, Primm, Patterson & DiCesare Improve On NCAA Qualifers At Last Chance Meets
All four men make good use of last chance qualifiers for NCAA Indoor

Kevin Craddock (Richmond, CA/ James Logan), Cory Primm (Thousand Oaks, CA Westlake), Marlon Patterson (Sacramento, CA; Franklin, Elk Grove) and Casey DiCesare (Irvington, NY Irvington) made good use of last chance indoor qualifying meets on Saturday as all four men posted improved NCAA marks in their respective events.

Craddock was competing at the Iowa State Last Chance qualifier in Ames and improved his position on the NCAA list in the 60m hurdles with a season-best run of 7.75. That time ranks ninth in the NCAA this season and was just .03 shy of the auto standard and .02 seconds shy of Craddock's own school record. He finished second overall in the event.

Also in Iowa, Jonathan Clark (Los Angeles, CA; Loyola) won the triple jump competition with a mark of 51-8.50. He has a better mark of 52-5.25, which ranks 17th in the NCAA this season.

At the Alex Wilson Invitational in South Bend, IN, Primm and Patterson improved their NCAA stock with solid performances. Primm ran a lifetime-best in the 800m (1:48.07, 4th) for the No. 11 time in the NCAA this season. His time was just .08 seconds shy of the auto qualifier. That mark should be enough for a spot at Nationals, held next weekend in Fayetteville, AR. Patterson also ran a lifetime-best as he posted a mark of 4:00.33 in the mile (2nd). That time is 22nd in the NCAA and puts him on the bubble for a spot at Nationals.

The men's DMR relay was supposed to run on Friday, but head men's coach Mike Maynard opted out of the race after seeing that UCLA's previous best mark of 9:31.07 was not beaten in the earlier heats on Friday. Their time ranks third in the NCAA this season. By not running the DMR, both Primm and Patterson were well-rested for their competitions on Saturday and the results proved fruitful.

Also in Iowa, Jonathan Simmons (Los Angeles, CA; Beverly Hills) finished 27th in the 800m with a time of 1:52.58.

At the Last Chance meet in Seattle, WA, DiCesare improved his NCAA stock with a lifetime-best mark of 17-7.75 in the pole vault. That marks is tied for ninth on the NCAA list this season. He finished tied for second in the competition.

Also in Seattle, Johnny Quinn (Dana Point, CA; St. Margaret's) finished tied for 14th in the pole vault with a mark of 16-2. Alex Crabill (Tacoma, WA; Charles Wright Academy) (8:10.04) and Marco Anzures (San Diego, CA St. Augustine) (8:14.80) finished third and fourth in the 3000m, respectively.
The NCAA Indoor Championship field will be announced on Monday afternoon.
