Men's Track & Field Captures MPSF Indoor Crown
Bruins win team title as two more athletes improve upon NCAA marks

The men's track and field team captured the MPSF Indoor Championship crown on Saturday in Seattle, WA as two Bruins improved upon their NCAA marks to help lead the team to victory. It was the first MPSF title for the Bruin men since 2005.
Junior Marlon Patterson and sophomore Nick Robinson led the team as both improved upon their NCAA marks on Saturday. Robinson threw a season-best 60-8.75 in the shot put to finish third overall as his mark moves him to the top-15 in the NCAA this season. Patterson ran a lifetime-best 4:02.33 in the mile to finish fourth overall. Both marks were NCAA provisional qualifiers.
Also in the mile, senior Laef Barnes ran a season-best 4:05.23 to finish eighth overall. Sophomore Cory Primm finished sixth in the 800m with an NCAA provisional time of 1:50.38, but has a better time this season (1:50.17).
In the 60m hurdles, senior Kevin Craddock picked up a point as he finished eighth in a time of 8.30. The 4x400m relay team of freshman Eric Vaughn, sophomore Nevin Gutteriez, sophomore Quentin Powell and senior Elijah Wells was seventh in a season-best time of 3:15.89.
In field event action, four Bruin men tied for first in the pole vault with equal clearances of 16-11.50 (sophomores Johnny Quinn, Casey DiCesare and Greg Woepse and senior Bobby Talley). Senior Dustin DeLeo tied for seventh with a vault of 16-5.50.
In the high jump, sophomore Taylor Hobson tied for sixth with a clearance of 6-8.75. Sophomore Jonathan Clark was second in the triple jump (50-5.25). Junior Bo Taylor was fourth in the shot put with a throw of 59-6.75.
