DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis senior cross country runner Kaitlin Gregg was named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Women's All-Academic Team, it was announced Monday. It marks the first USTFCCCA academic honors for Gregg.
Gregg, a Davis native, was one of just 76 NCAA Division I student-athletes to receive the academic honors. To be eligible for the accolades, student-athletes must carry a minimum GPA of 3.25, finish in the top 15 or top 10% at their respective regional meet, or earn All-American status at the national meet. Gregg holds a 3.82 GPA as double major in International relations and economics.
The senior capped her final season as an Aggie with a team-best finish of sixth at the Big West Championships and an All-Region finish of 16th at the West Region Championships in Palo Alto. Her efforts earned her a trip the national meet.
Gregg is no stranger to academic honors as she has now earned seven different accolades over the past three seasons. That list includes three straight CoSIDA All-District honors and back-to-back Big West Conference All-Academic distinction.
Gregg is currently competing with the UC Davis indoor track and field team, which is in action this Saturday at the Washington Last Chance NCAA Indoor Qualifier.
