Keith Conning: I attended the U.S. Naval Academy Prep School in Bainbridge, Maryland in 1959-60. I received appointments to the U.S. Naval Academy and the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1960 from Congressman William S. Mailliard, who represented San Francisco for 21 years. I accepted the appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy.
