UCLA Women's Track & Field Announces National Letter-Of-Intent Signees

Signing class features top Canadian sprinter and several local standout athletes

Head women's track and field coach Jeanette Bolden has announced the signing of nine student-athletes to National Letters-of-Intent. The class includes one of the top prep athletes in Canada, several standout sprinters from California, field event athletes and a distance runner. Joining the Bruins in the fall are Brea Buchanan, Elena Clarke, Gabrielle Estell, Kayla Mallett, Jennifer Owen, Kylie Price, Katherine Reid, Celeste Rietveld and Katherine Salcido.

Gabrielle Estell (Rancho Verde HS) is the No. 1 returning 200m runner in the state. Last season she had a top 200m time of 23.86 in 2010 (#19 in the U.S.), which was a Riverside County record. She also has a top 400m time of 54.72 and was a member of the state champion 4x100m relay last season. Estell also finished ninth in the 200m at the State Meet last season.
