NCAA Championships Sites for Cross Country and Track & Field Announced Through 2017-18

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Sites for the NCAA Championships in cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field for all divisions to be held between 2014-15 and 2017-18 were announced Wednesday.

Announced regional sites for cross country can be found at the bottom of this article.


Division I
DIVISION I HOST SITES

Outdoor Track & Field
Oregon’s Hayward Field in Eugene, which has hosted the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships 11 times total and twice in the past four years including this past season, will be home to the meet through the 2021 championships. It will also host the 2014 championships, which had been previously announced.

Oregon also announced that it will continue to hold the event through 2021.

The road to Eugene will still run through a variety of cities hosting the East and West region first-round meets. Texas will host the West Region first-round meets in 2015 and 2017 in Austin, Texas, while Kansas has the 2016 meet in Lawrence, Kan., and Sacramento State hosts the 2018 meet in Sacramento, Calif.

The East Region will be held in Jacksonville, Fla., at North Florida in both 2015 and 2016 before handing the meet off to Kentucky in Lexington, Ky., in 2017. The meet will return to the Sunshine State in 2018 in Tampa, Fla, hosted by South Florida.

Indoor Track & Field
Arkansas’ Randal Tyson facility will host its 12th NCAA Division I Indoor Championship Meet in 2015. The meet was most recently held at Arkansas in 2013.

In 2016, the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala., will hold its first NCAA Division I Indoor Championships — hosted by Samford — before the meet returns to College Station, Texas, in 2017 and 2018. The meet will be the second on Texas A&M’s campus dating back to the 2011 championships.

The Birmingham Crossplex will also host Division II in both 2015 and 2017, and Division III in 2018.

Cross Country
Terre Haute, Ind., and Indiana State will host the Division I Cross Country Championships for the 11th and 12th times in 2014 and 2016, respectively. The meet has been held in Terre Haute in all but two years since 2002, going to Northern Iowa in 2003 and Louisville in 2012.

Louisville will again host in 2017 for the second time. It will also host the 2014 Division II and 2016 Division III championships.

A site for the 2015 NCAA Cross Country Championships has not yet been announced for any of the three divisions.

Outdoor Track & Field
Grand Valley State is set to host its first NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships this spring, and it was announced Wednesday that Allendale, Mich., will also play host to the 2015 meet.

The championships will move south in both 2016 and 2017 as Bradenton, Fla., will hold the meet for two consecutive years, hosted by Tampa.

A move back northward to Sioux Falls, S.D., is in store for 2018 as Sioux Falls, secured the final announced championship site for Division II outdoor track & field.

Indoor Track & Field
After successfully holding the 2013 NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in 2013, the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala., will be the site of the meet again in both 2015 and 2017, hosted by Alabama-Huntsville. The 2017 meet will be part of the Division II Winter Sports Festival.

The facility will also host Division I in 2016 and Division III in 2018.

In the years the meet is not in Birmingham, it will be held in Pittsburg, Kan., in both 2016 and 2018. These will be the first two times Pittsburg State has hosted.

Cross Country
Bellarmine will host the 2014 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships in Louisville, Ky., for the first time since 2010. The meet will be a part of the Division II Fall Sports Festival.

The meet moves south in 2015 to Saint Leo, Fla., where Saint Leo will host for the first time.

For the fourth time in Division II history, the 2017 meet will be hosted by Southern Indiana in Evansville, Ind.

A site for the 2015 NCAA Cross Country Championships has not yet been announced for any of the three divisions.

Outdoor Track & Field
In 2015, St. Lawrence will host its second NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships in Canton., N.Y., dating back to 2003.

Wartburg will also host its second-ever outdoor championship when the meet comes to Waverly, Iowa, in 2016.

The SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio, will be the site of the 2017 championships, which will be hosted by Mount Union. The school will be hosting its first outdoor championships.

The final announcement of Division III gave the 2018 championships to UW-La Crosse, which hosted the 2013 meet in La Crosse, Wis. This will be the school’s fourth outdoor championship meet.

Indoor Track & Field
Winston-Salem State will host the 2015 NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in 2015 in Winston-Salem, N.C., marking the first time in school history it has played host to the meet.

Illinois Wesleyan earned the right to host the 2016 meet in Bloomington, Ill. This will be the third time the school has hosted, and the first time since 2005.

The site of this year’s championships, North Central (Ill.) will get the meet for a second time in school history in 2017 as it hosts in Naperville, Ill.

Cross Country
The 2014 Division III Cross Country Championships will take place in Mason, Ohio, with Wilmington College playing host for the second time in school history. The meet was also held in Mason in 2006.

For the first time in school history, Spalding will host the 2016 championships in Louisville, Ky.

The final site announced was a trip to Elsah, Ill., in 2017 as Principia will host for the first time in school history.

A site for the 2015 NCAA Cross Country Championships has not yet been announced for any of the three divisions.
