Graham-Miller Named Assistant Track Coach at Illinois

DAVIS, Calif. - Kim Graham-Miller, a three-year assistant coach for the UC Davis men's and women's track and field teams, has been named assistant women's coach at the University of Illinois, it's been announced.
Graham-Miller, a gold medalist as part of the United States' 4x400 relay at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, worked with UC Davis sprinters during her tenure with the Aggies while assisting all areas of the track and field program.
Under her guidance, sophomore Ashley Marshall won both the 100- and 200-meter events at this year's Big West Championships leading Marshall to winning the conference's Female Track Athlete of the Year award.
Melanise Chapman captured two Big West titles in the same events for the Aggies in 2012.UC Davis has won back-to-back Big West Women's Track and Field Championships.
'In her three years with our program, Kim helped elevate the level and prominence of our women's sprint, hurdle and relay cadre," said Aggie head coach Drew Wartenburg. "Kim has made an indelible impact on a legacy of events in which Aggies demonstrate a strong tradition of outstanding performances.
"We have a high standard to maintain as the men and women look to build upon our current foundation this coming year and for many to come," he added. "Coaches and athletes in the program wish Kim all the best in her new endeavors as a member of the Illini coaching staff."
Graham-Miller has also served as an assistant coach at Duke and Virginia during her career. As a highly decorated athlete, she was the 400-meter champion at the 1998 U.S.A. Championships and was a semifinalist in the event at the 1996 Olympics.
Illinois finished second at this year's Big Ten Championships and placed 14th at the NCAA Championships.
