Renaud Lavillenie (French pronunciation: ​[ʁə.no la.vi.lə.ni or la.vil.ni]; born 18 September 1986 in Barbezieux-Saint-Hilaire) is a French pole vaulter.

[edit] BiographyLavillenie won the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Besides he has won one World Indoor Championships gold medal, two European Outdoor Championships gold medals and two European Indoor Champions gold medals. He has secured two bronze medals at the World Outdoor Championships.[1] As of 2011[update], he holds the French record for the highest pole vault clearance indoors at 6.03 m, which is the third-highest personal best indoor clearance of all time.[2]

He achieved a personal best jump of 5.65 metres in June 2008 in Villeneuve-d'Ascq. He vaulted 5.81 metres on the indoor track in December 2008 in Aulnay-sous-Bois, and repeated the feat twice since.[1]

Rens Blom 5.35 6
Rens Blom (born March 1, 1977) is a former Dutch athlete competing in pole vault.

Blom was born in Munstergeleen. He achieved a vault of 5.75 as early as in 2000, but five years passed without much further progress. However, on June 8, 2004, in Zaragoza, he set the current Dutch record with 5.81. In 2005, he consolidated his poisition by clearing 5.80 early in May.

At the 2005 World Championships in Athletics, he once again achieved 5.80 and won the gold medal. It was the first Dutch gold medal at a World Championship. In addition, Blom has won five national championships and four national indoor championships.

Steven ("Steve") James Lewis (born 20 May 1986) is an English pole vaulter. His personal best jump of 5.82 metres, set in July 2012, is the British record for the event.[1] Indoors his best is 5.75 m, achieved in Manchester on 17 January 2009.

He represented Great Britain at the 2008 Summer Olympics and is a two-time medalist for England at the Commonwealth Games. He has participated at the World Championships in Athletics on three occasions (2007, 2009, 2011) and has twice been a finalist at the IAAF World Indoor Championships.

Fabiana de Almeida Murer (born 16 March 1981 in Campinas) is a Brazilian pole vaulter. She holds the South American record in the event with an indoor best of 4.82 m and an outdoor best of 4.85 m, making her the fourth highest vaulter ever. She won the gold medal at the 2011 World Championships in Athletics, at the 2010 IAAF World Indoor Championships and also won at the 2007 Pan American Games. Murer represented Brazil at the 2008 Summer Olympics. She is a four-time South American Champion with wins in 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2011. Murer is coached by her husband, Élson Miranda de Souza, a former vaulter himself, with a personal best of 5.02 metres, obtained when winning the 1989 Brazilian National Championships, "Troféu Brasil".
