2013 Nor Cal Hurdle Summit

VS Athletics has teamed up with Speed Revolution to put together an exciting learning opportunity for hurdlers and coaches
of all ages and ability levels. This clinic brings together some of the nations top hurdle coaches & world class performers,
and includes a formal presentation with a panel of coaches that are top notch and a practical "learn by doing" segment
that is conducted by each of the coaches in attendance.

Sign up now online for this event taking place at Laney Community College.

Eligibility – Athletes and coaches of all ages and ability levels.
Cost– $50 same day or late registration signup.
Parents of registered athletes may attend for free.
Coaches that bring 5 athletes or more are also free.


Registration– Athletes and coaches can pre-register by printing out the Clinic Information Brochure and mailing it with the fee.
Or can register online by clicking the Online Registration link included on this page, and paying by credit card via Paypal.
After payment is made an e-mail will be sent to the email address you provided with the all the clinic information.

Clinician's and Honored Guests

Coach Jeff McAuley is widely considered to be one of the finest speed and hurdle development coaches in the country.

Kevin Young is still the World Record Holder in the 400m Hurdles at 46.78 seconds.
He is the 1992 Olympic Champion and the 1993 World Champion in the 400m Hurdles.

Charles "Chucky" Ryan is a former hurdler and urrent head coach of Academy of Art University.
A nationally recognized NCAA Division II powerhouse since his arrival in 2010.

Andre Phillips is the 1988 Olympic Champion in the 400 meter hurdles and a Northern California native.

Mike Gipson oversees the Cal Golden Bears in the sprints, hurdles and relays
in addition to his work as the program's recruiting coordinator.

Eugene Swift completed an outstanding hurdle career in 2003 , after hurdling for over 20 years.

Rodd Jett was a three time All-American in the high hurdles. Rod competed professionally in
track and field from 1989-1997, going to the U.S. Olympic Trials in 1988, 1992, and 1996.

Curtis Taylor is rightfully considered as one of the best coaches in Northern California history.
As a age group and high school coach he dominated, and then he moved on to
Laney Community College where his teams have won multiple state championships.

Kathleen Raske is easily the most accomplished coach in Sacramento State History.
After taking the helm at Sac State she has led the Hornets to
12 Big Sky Championships as well as finishing runner-up 5 times.
