IOC and Official Timekeeper OMEGA extend global Olympic partnership to 2032
 
The International Olympic Committee announced an extension to its global partnership with official timekeeper OMEGA through to 2032, extending its existing partnership by 12 years to include the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 through to the Games of the XXXV Olympiad (2032).
 
 
 
 
 
 
IOC President visits OlympAfrica centre in Mozambique
 
IOC President Thomas Bach took a trip out of Maputo to visit one of the OlympAfrica centres supported by the IOC. The centre in Boane, an hour from Mozambique's capital, provides sports and recreational facilities and training for thousands of local children.
 
 
 
 
 
IOC tackles the topic of nutritional supplements, their use and their effects
 
A panel of leading medical and scientific experts concluded a three-day meeting at the IOC headquarters to discuss the use of dietary supplements, their effects on athletes' health and performances and the risk of contamination and anti-doping issues.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
IOC President addresses ANOCA General Assembly in Djibouti and meets country's President
 
IOC President Thomas Bach has been in Djibouti, where he addressed representatives of the 54 African NOCs gathered there for the 17th General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ANOCA).
 
 
 
 
 
Olympians and the IOC #SlowDown to promote road safety
 
Road accidents are the biggest cause of mortality among young people aged 15 to 29. As the United Nations kicked off its fourth edition of Global Road Safety Week, the IOC and Olympians are helping to spread the word on the need to #SlowDown for safer roads and to save lives.

Korean soprano Sumi Jo joins PyeongChang as an ambassador
 
Sumi Jo, the Grammy Award-winning Korean soprano, has been appointed as an honorary ambassador for the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018. She is the latest member of an impressive roster of ambassadors who will help to promote the 2018 Winter Games.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Official poster competitions for PyeongChang 2018 launched
 
In partnership with the Republic of Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the PyeongChang Organising Committee for the 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games has launched a competition for the design of posters promoting both events.
 
 
 
 
 
Japanese schoolchildren invited to pick the Tokyo 2020 mascot!
 
Tokyo 2020 is proposing an original process to choose the Olympic and Paralympic mascots. A national competition open to all people living in Japan was presented on 22 May. A shortlist drawn up by a panel of experts will then be submitted to all of the country's schoolchildren, who will vote to decide upon the winners!
