World-Class Runner Allyson Felix Joins Team Wheaties

MINNEAPOLIS, March 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Wheaties welcomes four-time gold medalist Allyson Felix to the Team Wheaties family. Felix has proven herself a strong champion as one of the most decorated sprinters in U.S. history.
Having stepped on the world stage as a passionate 18-year-old in her first games, Felix has redefined athletics as she continues to cement her iconic status on and off the track. Her interest in the sport began by watching her older brother Wes run and she did not pursue track until her freshman year at the Los Angeles Baptist High School in North Hills. Just ten weeks after her first tryout, Felix was racing at the California State Finals.
Since her high school start, she has amassed an incredible 13 global titles, 10 United States championships, six medals (four gold), and a world record. These accomplishments solidify her as one of the greatest female athletes the world has seen.
Felix has proven herself a force on the track, but has still made time to graduate from the University of Southern California, and has a heart for her community outside the sport. She serves as an ambassador for Right to Play and Play Works, as well as being a member of the President's Council on Fitness, Sport, and Nutrition. She's recently turned her attention to helping provide Los Angeles area teens with tools to prepare themselves for higher education through their ACTS College Summit.
"Being a member of Team Wheaties allows me to partner with a team that has the same passionate drive to be the best that I do. I'm honored to be chosen and look forward to representing Team Wheaties well this summer," said Allyson Felix when asked about the partnership.
"We are excited to welcome such a successful and passionate athlete to the Wheaties family, and can't wait to see how Allyson performs at this year's games," said Jenna Lynch, Wheaties senior associate marketing manager.
