AUSTIN, Texas – The 2016 Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays are set to take place next week, running Wednesday, March 30 through Saturday, April 2 at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
The 89th running of the meet has drawn strong representation from the state of Texas but has also brought in athletes from around the globe. With the Olympic Games approaching this summer in Rio, the 2016 Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays will be bigger than ever before and will feature more Olympic hopefuls as well.
Last year's meet saw a total of 6,625 athletes from 34 states and eight countries compete. A total of 687  high schools and 208 collegiate teams took on the field at Myers Stadium. This year is even bigger with 32 states, plus the District of Columbia, and 20 countries and 813 high schools and 186 collegiate teams combining with 293 invitational athletes for a total of 7,519 total participants in the meet, making this the largest Texas Relays ever held. More than 5,100 high school athletes are entered in the meet this year and more than 2,100 university/college athletes are entered at this time.

The Relays get underway at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with the beginning of the two-day multi-events.
Thursday's action will highlight several of the distance disciplines, including the 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters, and the steeplechase events across both the High School and University/College divisions.
The Friday evening session will showcase some of the non-traditional outdoor relay events with the sprint medley and distance medley for the High School and University/College levels. Several other premier High School events will be featured on Friday night, including the 1,600 meters, 4x400-meter relay and 300m hurdles.
Saturday will kick off at 8:15 a.m. with the High School 3,200-meter races. The Saturday portion of the High School 4x100-meter relay events will lead into an exciting, action-packed day. The Men's and Women's Elite Pole Vault competitions will feature multiple Olympians and even world record holders. The Men's Elite Pole Vault starts at 1:30 p.m. with 2015 world champion Shawn Barber in action with multiple Olympians. The Women's event will be at 4:45 p.m. and all three American women to ever clear 16 feet will be in action.

Tickets can be obtained at the Mike A. Myers Stadium Box office during the event or can be purchased in advance at TexasSports.com or by calling the UT Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 982-2386 or (512) 471-3333.  Fans can attend the event free of charge on Wednesday, March 30 and Thursday, March 31 with $20 reserved seating and $10 general admission tickets available for Friday and Saturday.  All-session passes can also be purchased for $40 (reserved seats) and $20 (general admission). Single-day tickets go on sale Monday.

For the fourth year in a row, Longhorn Network will provide extensive coverage. This year, 14 hours of coverage will be available during the four days of the Relays.

The Relays get underway at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday with the beginning of the two-day multi-events.
Thursday's action will highlight several of the distance disciplines, including the 1,500 meters and 5,000 meters, and the steeplechase events across both the High School and University/College divisions.
The Friday evening session will showcase some of the non-traditional outdoor relay events with the sprint medley and distance medley for the High School and University/College levels. Several other premier High School events will be featured on Friday night, including the 1,600 meters, 4x400-meter relay and 300m hurdles.
Saturday will kick off at 8:15 a.m. with the High School 3,200-meter races. The Saturday portion of the High School 4x100-meter relay events will lead into an exciting, action-packed day. The Men's and Women's Elite Pole Vault competitions will feature multiple Olympians and even world record holders. The Men's Elite Pole Vault starts at 1:30 p.m. with 2015 world champion Shawn Barber in action with multiple Olympians. The Women's event will be at 4:45 p.m. and all three American women to ever clear 16 feet will be in action.

Myers Stadium Box office during the event or can be purchased in advance at TexasSports.com or by calling the UT Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 982-2386 or (512) 471-3333.  Fans can attend the event free of charge on Wednesday, March 30 and Thursday, March 31 with $20 reserved seating and $10 general admission tickets available for Friday and Saturday.  All-session passes can also be purchased for $40 (reserved seats) and $20 (general admission). Single-day tickets go on sale Monday.

AUSTIN, Texas – The 2016 Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays are set to take place next week, running Wednesday, March 30 through Saturday, April 2 at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
The 89th running of the meet has drawn strong representation from the state of Texas but has also brought in athletes from around the globe. With the Olympic Games approaching this summer in Rio, the 2016 Nike Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays will be bigger than ever before and will feature more Olympic hopefuls as well.
Last year's meet saw a total of 6,625 athletes from 34 states and eight countries compete. A total of 687  high schools and 208 collegiate teams took on the field at Myers Stadium. This year is even bigger with 32 states, plus the District of Columbia, and 20 countries and 813 high schools and 186 collegiate teams combining with 293 invitational athletes for a total of 7,519 total participants in the meet, making this the largest Texas Relays ever held. More than 5,100 high school athletes are entered in the meet this year and more than 2,100 university/college athletes are entered at this time.
