USATF Level 2 School - Youth Specialization

USA Track & Field (USATF) Coaching Education, presented by Gill Athletics, will offer the inaugural Youth Level 2 School immediately following the USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships this summer.

Available to: Youth and/or junior and senior high school coaches who have completed a Level 1 School or Developmental Coach Program prior to April 30th.

Dates: Sunday-Thursday, August 1-5, 2010
Registration Deadlines: School with accommodation: Wednesday, 30 June
School without accommodation: Sunday, 23 July

Location: Lions Gate Hotel in Sacramento, California

Description: The USATF Coaching Education Level 2-Youth Specialization program is designed to address the needs of coaches who want an advanced course of coaching the youth athlete to their full potential. The Level 2 Youth Specialization program covers advanced sport science curriculum in four broad event areas with special attention given to the unique methodology needed to supervise the developing young athlete. The Youth coach will get training in the areas of growth and development, nutrition, training theory, sport psychology, and event specific sport science for the youth athlete. The residential school consists of 4.5 days of intense classroom and on the field training.

Hal Connolly: 1956 Olympic Gold Medalist in the men's hammer, 6-time US Record Holder
