Hosted by TrackTown USA President Vin Lananna, the special guests at this month's TrackTown Tuesday will be UO student-athlete Edward Cheserek, three-time Olympian and U.S. record-holder Shannon Rowbury, Oregon Track Club Elite newcomer Andrew Osagie, and Pre Classic meet director Tom Jordan.
  • Oregon senior Edward Cheserek is the winningest track and field athlete in NCAA history with 17 national titles, a three-time finalist for The Bowerman award, and the reigning collegiate record-holder in the mile. The UO distance superstar will be joined on stage by UO associate head coach Andy Powell.

  • Nike Oregon Project's Shannon Rowbury will be accompanied by Pre Classic meet director Tom Jordan. Rowbury, who currently holds three American records, will be one of the headline performers at the 43rd annual Prefontaine Classic, May 26-27 at Hayward Field. She’s entered in the 1,500 meters, competing against a stacked field that includes seven runners with lifetime bests under 4 minutes. The Portland resident set the U.S. 1,500m record of 3:56.29 in 2015 and won the bronze medal in the 3,000m at the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Portland.

  • OTC Elite’s Andrew Osagie is a native of Great Britain, and is scheduled to open his outdoor season at the UO Twilight Meet on May 5. Osagie, a two-time World Indoor bronze medalist in the 800 meters, set his personal best of 1 minute, 43.77 seconds in the famed 2012 London Olympic final.
The popular town hall meetings are free and open to the public. Doors open at 6 p.m. for a social hour, followed by the one-hour show at 7 p.m. Sasha Spencer Atwood, the director of external affairs at TrackTown USA, will be the emcee.
