INDIANAPOLIS -- The IAAF has extended Olympic Games invitations to the top three finishers in the men’s hammer throw at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials, held last week in Eugene. Rudy Winkler (Sand Lake, New York), Kibwe Johnson (Suwanee, Georgia) and Conor McCullough (Canoga Park, California) have been added to the 2016 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team set to represent Team USA in Rio.

The three had placed 1-2-3 in the hammer throw at the U.S. Olympic Trials but had not achieved the Olympic Standard qualifying mark of 77.00m/252-7. With only 23 currently eligible throwers internationally having achieved the standard, the IAAF this week extended additional invitations to fill the field.
