Harter added to coaches' hall of fame

Arkansas women's track and field coach Lance Harter, right, is congratulated by men's manager Georg Eberhardt after winning the conference title Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, during the Southeastern Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville.
FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas women's coach Lance Harter will be inducted into the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) Hall of Fame in December.
Harter is one of six inductees in the 2014 class, which will be honored Dec. 15 in Phoenix. He is the second Arkansas coach to be inducted into the hall of fame alongside former men's coach John McDonnell.
Harter is in his 25th season with the Razorbacks. His Arkansas teams have won 22 conference championships in three sports - including two during the last school year - and have finished national runner-up four times.
Prior to Arkansas, Harter led Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo to 13 national team championships. He has previously been inducted into the Arkansas Hall of Honor, Cal Poly Hall of Fame and Mt. SAC Relays Hall of Fame.
