FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Senior Trey Harts and junior Tiffany Townsend combined to sweep the men's and women's 200 meters on first day of action on Friday at the Razorback Invitational in the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark.

Harts' time of 21.07 stands as the fastest time by a collegiate runner this season, and fifth fastest in the world. The time meets provisional qualifications. Townsend, who met the women's provisional mark, beat the field with a time of 23.37, the third fastest time in the NCAA this season.

"It was a very good opener for both (Harts and Townsend) in the 200," Harbour said. "That's pretty much what you expect from two of that caliber, and I thought they did a really good job. They executed the race well, Tiff and Trey both had a good race."

In the women's field events, Freshman Skylar White continued her upward climb in the shot put, breaking her own school record for the second week in a row with a throw of 49-1 to place third in the meet. Senior transfer Dess Meek placed fourth in the women's high jump, clearing a height of 5-6 in her first competition of the season.

"Skylar has that (school record) down, about a foot per week, if she can keep that up, that would be pretty nice," Harbour said.

In the men's field events for the day, Junior Joe Farley picked up a third-place finish in the pole vault, clearing a height of 16-0.75. Kyle Cash (Justin-Siena HS, Napa, CA) , clearing a bar of 6-8.75.

"It was good to see Joe get a couple bars," Harbour said. "He had a couple good jumps at 16-6, but it's just good to see him after his injuries last year getting some work in. And the same for Kyle, he almost got 6-10 tonight, so that's a good jump for him. Both of those guys had a solid day."Also on the track, the men's distance medley relay team placed fifth with a time of 10:18.05. Zac Flowers led off with the 1,200-meter leg, followed by Drew Seale on the 400-meter leg, James Gilreath on the 800-meter leg, and Tyler Stewart finishing with the 1,600-meter leg.

Baylor's track and field team will be back in action tomorrow for the final day of the two-day Razorback Invitational. Running events are scheduled to start at 11 a.m. Multi events will also begin at 11 a.m., with the rest of the field events slated for a 3 p.m. start.
