LOS ANGELES – The UCLA track and field team added some of the top prep talent in the world. Keep track of all the newest members of the Bruins right here at signing day central.

Kimani Austin-Reese

Attends Miami Central High School in Miami, Fla. … Placed second in the 300m hurdles in the Florida State Finals and third in the 100m hurdles in 2012 … Won the Florida 3A Region 4 meet in the 100 hurdles with a time of 13.94 … Placed second in the 300m hurdles at the Florida 3A Region 4 meet.

Zack Bornstein

Attends Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, Calif. … Placed fifth at the Junior Pan Am Games in Medellin, Colombia with 7097 points in the decathlon to break the Canadian national record … Won the Canadian Junior Nationals in Montreal by breaking the meet record with a score of 6,918 … Scored 6,967 points to earn silver at the Arcadia Invitational … The score set a California state record for juniors and was the second highest overall scored in state history … Won the CIF division IV discus title in 2012 Claimed bronze at the 2011 USATF Junior Olympic National Championships … Also a four-year letterwinner on the football team.

Amir Patterson

Attends Crespi High School in Encino, Calif. … One of the best combo throwers in prep history in the state of California … Captured gold at the Age 17-18 Division of the USATF Youth Outdoor Championships at Edwardsville, Ill., with a discus throw of 199-11, nearly 23-feet longer than the next competitor … Went on to place eighth in his age group at the IAAF World Youth Championships in Ukraine … His combined marks in the discus and shot put of 262-8.75 (199-11 + 62-9.75) is the third longest by a junior in California history … Placed second at the CIF State Championships in the shot put (62-9.75) and third in the discus (187-6) … Won 10 prep meets in the shot put as a junior and four in the discus.

Ashlie Blake

Attends Liberty High School in Henderson, Nev. … Named the Gatorade Player of the Year for the state of Nevada … A two-time defending state champion in both the shot put and discus … Ranked third in the country in 2013 in the shot put with a mark of 51-3.50 and 17th in the discus with a throw of 157-0 … Entering her senior campaign she ranks third in the shot put and sixth in the discus among returning athletes … Volunteers locally with the Special Olympics and her school’s Best Buddies Club.
