Won the Sonoma County League title in a school record time of 17:30, then won the CIF-North Coast Section championship in a time of 17:43, the third fastest time in Div. IV... Finished seventh among Div. IV runners at California State Cross Country Championships during senior season... Three-time All-Sonoma County League first-team selection while also earning back-to-back All-Empire first team honors as a junior and senior... Also received All-North Coast Section first team accolades and was named to the All-Nor Cal second team as a senior... Set course records on two different occasions during her senior season while also setting a meet record once... Three-time All-Sonoma County League first team selection in track and field... State meet qualifier this past season in 1,600 after 5:02.41 PR in NCS Meet of Champions... Posted 11:00.65 PR in 3,200 at Meet of Champions... Won 1,600 and 3,200 titles at Sonoma County League championship as well as at NCS Redwood Empire Championships, setting a school record in both events... CIF state qualifier in 1,600... Recipient of NCS Scholar-Athlete award for both cross country and track and field.

PERSONAL: Parents are Tony and Dorothy Lane... Has one younger brother, Brady... Majoring in animal biology... Lists current Aggie assistant coach Kim Conley as her sports hero and would someday like to compete in the Olympics... Always wears a lucky ribbon and lucky watermelon socks on race day.

Keith Conning: Nicole Lane (El Molina HS, Forestville) won the NCS MOC Cross Country Championship Division IV last year in 17:43. She is the third fastest in the NCS MOC DIV at Hayward High School. Sarah Sumpter (Healdsburg), a senior at UC Davis, set the Division IV record of 16:59 in 2007. Ariel Wright (Bishop O'Dowd) is the second fastest at 17:15 in 2004.

Vet Med leads UC Davis' top-10 showing in U.S. News rankings

UC Davis has been recognized once again for its outstanding graduate and professional schools and programs. Our School of Veterinary Medicine continued its No. 2 ranking in the nation in U.S. News & World Report’s new report on U.S. graduate schools and programs. And the university scored a fifth-place ranking for biological-agricultural engineering.
