Nelson Crushes Field At Ft. Collins 4-Miler;
Korir A Fast Second At Applied Materials Silicon Valley Turkey Trot 5k

(Colorado Springs, CO) - Thanksgiving saw American Distance Project athletes excel at holiday both locally and afar.

Brianne Nelson (adidas/BRC) blew away the field for the win at
the Fort Collins Turkey 4-Miler, while Brandon Birdsong (adidas/BRC) got edged in fourth-place. Nelson never looked back after an opening mile of 4:20, crossing the finish line in 21:20, 33-seconds over runner-up Nuta Olaru. Birdsong
finished in 19:23. Nelson and Birdsong's efforts aided adidas/BRC in winning the Boulder Track Club rivalry, while adidas/BRC's women's squad sealed up the five-race series taking the Elva Dryer Perpetual Trophy for 2012.

Leonord Korir (Nike) challenged Stephen Sambu for the win at the
Applied Material Silicon Valley Turkey Trot 5k in San Jose, CA
, but despite the duo bettering the course record of 13:33, Korir had to settle for 2nd two ticks behind with a time of 13:30. Anthony Mallory made his professional debut finishing 19th in the elite field of 52 with a personal best of 14:35.

, in the final stages of preparation for the California International Marathon in nine days, broke the course record at the Redline Turkey Day 10k in Broomfield, CO with a time of 30:28.5, winning by over two-minutes,
while Matt Levassiur
(adidas/BRC)
took the 5k in 14:56.

Sean Brown
(adidas/BRC)
also got the win at the YMCA Turkey Trot 5k in Colorado Springs with a time of 15:47.

(adidas/BRC), who both had to scramble after the cancelation of the New York City Marathon due to Hurricane Sandy, will be competing along with Macias at the California International Marathon in Sacramento on December 2nd.

Both the men's and women's squads of adidas/BRC will be challenging for team titles at the 2012 US Club Cross Country Championships in Lexington, KY on December 8th. Team members include Brianne Nelson, Mattie Suver, Christie Foster and Wendy Thomas for the women and Brandon Birdsong, Sean Brown, and Tommy Neal for the men.

Early Registration For American Distance Summit Nears

(Charlotte, NC) - Early registration for the 2013 ADP American Distance Summit, to be held
January 5-6, 2013 in Charlotte, NC,
expires December 1st.

The fifth year edition has a middle-distance focus featuring
Frank "Gags" Gagliano, Ryan Ponsonby, Bart Sessa, as well as US Olympic Training Center Senior
Sports Physiologist
Dr. Randy Wilber.

Gagliano, a legend in the sport, is currently the coach of the New Jersey/New York Track Club
and formerly headed up the resurgent Oregon Track Club. A few of his current and former charges include Olympians Nick Symmonds (800), Jullie Cullie (5k), Erin Donohue (1500), Christian Smith (800) and Nicole Teter (800).

Ryan Ponsonby, coaching for the Austin Track Club alongside legendary coach John Cook, is a brilliant young coach who guided Leonel Manzano to the Silver Medal in the 1500m at the 2012 London Olympics, while
Bart Sessa is the long-time coach at Syosset High School (N.Y.) where his 2005 4x800-meter team won the Penn Relays Championship of America and broke the National High School Indoor Record for that event.

Wilber, who is widely recognized for his research, lecturing and publishing, will present on the topic of "Overtraining: Causes, Recognition and Prevention."

ADP New York City Marathon Refugees Recalibrate

(Colorado Springs, CO) - After the disappointment of the cancelation of the 2012 New York City Marathon, four ADP athletes have recalibrated their race plans and refocused training on other races.

Alisha Williams (adidas/BRC) and Adrian Chouinard (adidas/BRC) shifted their focus a full month to the California International Marathon to be held December 02 in Sacramento, CA. The duo will be joined at CIM with recent added ADP International Elite Mario Macias (adidas/BRC).

Wendy Thomas (adidas/BRC) and Tommy Neal (adidas/BRC) will both race the 2012 Chevron
Houston

Marathon January 13th.

Christie Foster continues with her plans for the Rock & Roll Arizona Marathon January 20th.
